As I was reading this story about FEMA ( FEMA will reduce land required to store travel trailers ), it acctually upset me. The story stated that FEMA had spent over $2 Billion to buy 145,000 mobile homes and trailers after the storms Katrina and Rita. Then it went on about how thousands of them went unused. Is this how our government spends our money? It's no wonder that our country is in the mess it's in. I hope the new Administration is a lot better than that. FEMA to me seems to be nothing but a joke to our country. They continue to waste money and come up with excuses why it got wasted and why they can't use the products that were purchased. If your unable to use the products that were purchased then I want to know, who's responsiblilty was it to find the right product for displaced families to use. That is the person that should be fired! When I was selling RVs during the time Katrina and Rita hit, we were getting electrician's, plumbers, and carpenters purchasing travel trailers to go to New Orleans to work. The funny part about this is, the reason they were going there was because, FEMA was paying them $30,000 a month! That is more than the average citizen makes in a year. Welcome to America, how can we waste your money? I definitely don't blame the guys going back east to work, I would probably go for that too. The thing is though, if you say your going to help out Americans who have lost everything, make sure you spend our tax payer money wisely, not as if it were going out of style " FEMA ". Besides the Hurricanes, FEMA just doesn't know if they are coming or going. Help people but, don't make others rich in the process FEMA because, it's not your money to waste.
